Julia & Phillip warmly welcome you to Blue Ridge Bed and Breakfast, Te Anau.
Blue Ridge opened its doors in 2004 with one room situated within our home. We enjoyed many of the aspects of bed and breakfast so much, we decided to build a purpose built guest lodge containing 3 stylishly appointed self contained studio apartments within our grounds the following year (2005) and enlarged and refurbished the Kea Room, making it into a comfortable and spacious suite of 2 rooms plus an adjoining en suite bathroom. We have slowly worked away at the landscaping and gardens and now have a beautiful English style garden with lots of perennials and mature trees, as well as over 60 roses.
We are situated at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac away from traffic noise but conveniently located just a few minutes stroll (literally 600 metres) to the Town Centre with its many restaurants, shops and beautiful Lake Te Anau.
Our 4 beautifully appointed guest rooms are named after New Zealand native birds found in the Fiordland area and all have comfortable king sized beds, couches to lounge on and modern tiled en suite bathrooms with powerful showers, heated floor tiles, towel warmers, hairdryers, fluffy white pure cotton towels and bathrobes. Luxurious organic lavender toiletries are provided.

What can you expect as a guest?
Your comfort and relaxation is our priority.
We will leave you to relax and enjoy the facilities we provide but if you require anything at all, you only have to ask. We are only too happy to help you plan your time here to maximise your experience.
Breakfast is served from 7 – 9 am and is usually a social occasion where guests swap stories and information while tucking into a generous continental plus cooked breakfast with freshly baked home-made muffins or croissants, seasonal fresh fruit platter, homemade yoghurt, fresh juice and a selection of cereals and breads as well as freshly brewed coffee or tea. Our dining room has stunning views of the Murchison mountains and our beautiful garden. Alternatively, if you want to sleep late or have a very early start, you can have a special gourmet breakfast hamper delivered to your room.
Home baking is provided in your room and we invite you to join us for a glass of wine before you set off for the evening if you have time.
A complimentary laundry service is available
Enjoy a game of Petanque, soak in our heated hydrotherapy spa pool or just relax on the sunny deck with a glass of wine.
Our bed & breakfast accommodation in Te Anau has complimentary wireless internet throughout and a guest laptop is available if required. Guest rooms all have a DVD player and TV and we have a selection of DVD movies and a book exchange for your convenience. A range of teas, coffees, including ground plunger coffee, along with fresh home baking is provided.
Local attractions and tour operators
All local tour operators pick up from our door and we offer a complimentary tour booking service. We have plenty of off-street parking and are happy for you to leave your car in our parking area if you are away tramping (hiking) or doing an overnight cruise. We are also happy to on-book accommodation within New Zealand for you.
We highly recommend you take the time to experience the Fiordland film, Ata Whenua (Shadowlands), which takes you on an unforgettable journey by helicopter through the most awe- inspiring landscapes on earth filmed across extremes of season, climate and terrain.

Why not stay a few days and enjoy day trips to both Milford and Doubtful Sounds. You could take a Jet boat ride or scenic flight to see Lord of the Rings scenery. If you enjoy golfing, Te Anau Golf Course has one of the best views you could imagine, situated right beside the lake. Take one of the many walks in the area – We are just a few minutes drive to the entrance to the world renowned Kepler Track or visit our Bird Park where you will see the Takahe, one of the world’s rarest birds
