Welcome to Blue Ridge Bed & Breakfast

lue Ridge is situated in a secluded residential neighbourhood in the heart of Te Anau, nestled amongst established cottage gardens – just 5 minutes’ walk to the town centre.

Our 3 luxuriously appointed studios are in a separate building to the main house, each with private ensuite bathroom and kitchenette and are available on a room only or bed and breakfast basis.

We pride ourselves on making your stay as comfortable as possible while you enjoy all that the Fiordland region has to offer..

The accommodation was very comfortable and my husband and I had our best sleep here! The hot tub was a real bonus and we enjoyed using this both nights. Rebecca was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to help organise activities and plan our time in Te Anau. My husband loved the cooked breakfast and Otis the pooch. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay with Rebecca and Mike. So nice to find an accommodation where we felt right at home after many days of travel. Our guestroom met all our needs, complete with kitchenette and beautiful bed linen. We enjoyed our conversations and very much appreciated their accommodating hospitality. Loved Rebecca's hydrangeas too!

Your Hosts

Rebecca & Mike Johnston

We moved our family to Te Anau from North Otago in 2005 and fell in love with Fiordland and all it has to offer. We took over Blue Ridge B&B in 2016 and haven’t looked back. Mike spends his spare time fishing, boating and hunting as do our two sons. Rebecca also enjoys the outdoors, loves to cook and entertain, and relaxes by reading, walking or gardening. We have a small bichon x dog named Otis who you may see wandering the garden. Mike continues with his work as a linesman, while Rebecca - who has previously worked in the local tourism industry, runs the B&B full time. She is knowledgeable about the Fiordland area and happy to advise on and book any of the local tours on your behalf.

MILFORD SOUND

 

Milford Sound is a two-hour drive which should be done at leisure to experience the viewpoints and walks along the way. There are many cruises available on the Sound and if you prefer not to drive you can take one of the many local tours available.

DOUBTFUL SOUND

 

The journey to Doubtful Sound starts with a boat cruise across picturesque Lake Manapouri followed by a coach over the Wilmot Pass through Fiordland’s rainforest and into the Sound where you will meet your boat to cruise the deepest fiord in NZ.

TE ANAU GLOWWORM CAVES

 

Take a Cruise across Lake Te Anau for a guided cave tour past the rushing water of an underground stream before drifting in silent darkness beneath hundreds of glowworms.
